In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President described the loss as devastating, noting that no parent should have to endure the pain of losing a child. He urged the Adichie family to find comfort in the love and support of well-wishers during the difficult period.
Tinubu acknowledged Chimamanda Adichie’s global impact as a literary icon whose works have brought pride to Nigeria, Africa, and the Black world, adding that the nation shares in her grief.
The President prayed for the repose of the young soul and asked God to grant Adichie and her family the strength to bear the loss.
