JESUS BROUGHT US NEW COVENANT NOT TEN COMMANDMENTS
*In the Mosaic times, the Ten Commandments were written on tablets of clay and delivered by Moses, while the new covenant or laws of God are written in the hearts of men and women, and delivered by Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:16).
*In Hebrews 8:13, the Bible says: “In that He says; ‘a new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. Now, what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.”
*Having found the old covenant (Ten Commandments) obsolete, God sent His son Jesus Christ to come to the world with a new covenant to be written on the hearts of men and established on better promises (Hebrews 8:6-10).
*The ministry of Jesus Christ (gospel) brought with it the message of grace, faith and promises of forgiveness. In particular, Hebrews 8:12 says:”For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
*With the new covenant, God is now worshipped in spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Spirit Himself, “with unveiled faces, . . . and we are transformed into the image of the Lord. “(2Corinthians 3:13-18).
*Unlike in the days of Moses, Christians today worship God with unveiled faces because once we become born again, the veil is taken away.
