MID-WEEK SERMON BY SAMUEL NKIRE

YOU CAN’T GIVE WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE; BUT YOU CAN GIVE WHAT GOD HAS IN YOU.

*For a non-Christian, it might be fashionable to join the Joneses to say: ‘you can’t give what you don’t have.’ But spiritually speaking, a believer can give what he or she doesn’t physically have, leaning on our faith which tells us that we have the mind of Christ, and are in spiritual union with Him (1Corinthians 2:16).

*Psalms 34:10 says:”The young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” For the Christian, the good things include knowledge, money, power and even oratory; etc.

*Anyone who is in Christ and believes in the gospel of faith in Jesus Christ should be able to boast in the powers and knowledge of God through Jesus Christ.

*It is, therefore, unbelief for Christians to say they can’t ‘give what they don’t have,’ when they should know that God the Father is the source of everything, including knowledge.

*1Corinthians 1:30 says:”He who glories (boasts), let him glory in the Lord.” It actually won’t amount to boasting if we say there’s nothing we can’t have through the name of Jesus Christ; although it is not everything we must have.

*2 Peter 1:3 says:”As of His divine power, He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”

*A Christian has everything good and valuable in Christ Jesus – power, wisdom, prosperity, healing, faith to access whatever he or she lacks, and many more.

*Apostle Peter wasn’t educated, yet he gave what the world said he didn’t have (Acts 4:13). He provided bold and quality leadership among the disciples and became the first Pope.
