John 8:12 says: “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
*Jesus is the light of the world; he who follows Him will end up being righteous and going to heaven. The gospel of Jesus Christ exposes the dark aspects of life and makes light the heavy burdens of this world.
*As the light of the world, Jesus has, through His gospel told us the truth about our salvation as well as, unveiled and showed us, the sure way to heaven; which is to believe in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
*Hebrews 10:12 – “But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God.” Jesus, who is the light of the world, died as a sacrifice for our sins, once and for all; past, present and future.
*When we believe and proclaim His death, we will not only be guaranteed salvation, we will begin to claim all the good things that His gospel has promised through His grace.
*Follow the light and path of Christ because God His father sent Him to this world so “that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17).
