President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a testament to his visionary and people-oriented leadership.

In a statement issued from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said the resounding victory recorded by Soludo in Saturday’s poll makes him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to win a second term in office.

He also commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu stated.

The President described Governor Soludo—popularly known as Mr Solution—as a disciplined and brilliant technocrat who has successfully applied academic principles to governance, emphasizing accountability, transparency, and prudent management of resources.

Recalling his visit to the state in May to inaugurate some projects executed by the Soludo administration, Tinubu praised the governor’s developmental initiatives and innovative approach to governance.

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” he added.

While urging Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and work with his political opponents, President Tinubu assured him of the Federal Government’s continued support and collaboration for the development of Anambra State.

He further noted that the victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (AGPA) in the election reflects the vitality of Nigeria’s democracy, proving that “victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied.”

The President also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what observers have described as a credible election, urging the commission to sustain and improve on the standards set.

President Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic and electoral processes.
