Association of Nigerian Authors honor Udenta.O. Udenta.

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), recently, laid out the red carpet for one its brightest sons, Prof Udenta.O. Udenta. The esteemed writer, scholar, innovator and activist was honored to commemorate his 62nd birthday at the Maman Vatsa’s ANA Writers Village Mpape Abuja.

A quintessential event with a touch of elegance to match, the classical Music Mini concert played host to a number of distinguished names in the arena, Professor Vicky Sylvester of the University of Abuja, Harvard University scholar, DR Sam Amadi, APC Pioneer member Chief Sam Nkire , also an author and renowned literary critique, Martin Ezemano amongst others. Other notable dignitaries at the event included Alhaji Idi farouk, Dr Pter Igho and Chief Dele Olowu.

Udenta whose intellectual and creative depth highlights his status as one of the country’s most brilliant minds. A literary guru and ideologist.

A giant of the field of letters deep rooted in the concept of post colonialism, Identity Politics and the state of African political evolution as a continent. Udenta has published and edited over 20 books and delivered more than 150 papers across academic and strategic forums worldwide.

Chairman of ANA Abuja chapter, Arc Chukwudi Eze Fana, was full of praise for the Enugu-born native, Prof Udenta, saying “He is a Nigerian Intellectual of remarkable depth, a writer whose voice has traversed literature, philosophy, cultural studies and political science. He embodies the rare fusion of the creative mind with critical consciousness, a trait that makes his scholarship both unique and impactful”

Eze expressed hope that the invaluable gathering of brilliant minds would instigate a new found interest in literature, bridging the gap between literature and the society, sparking vibrant discussions about leadership, society and the place of the writer in times of change.
