THE GOSPEL IS LIFE, WITHOUT IT IS DEATH
*Romans 7:10 says: “And the Commandment which was to bring life, I found to bring death.”
*According to the above scripture written by Apostle Paul, the Ten Commandments which was meant to bring life, ended up bringing death, while the new covenant and the gospel of Jesus Christ brought life and grace through His sacrifice at the Cross of Calvary.*Romans 1:16 further says: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. . . ” From the above, the gospel is the power of God to save you, not only from death and he’ll but from all evils such as poverty, ill-health, fear, and misery; if you believe in Jesus and His gospel.
*The reason why many of us Christians do not benefit much from the promises of God is the lack of faith or the difficulty in believing the gospel.
*It is, nevertheless, in our best interests to surrender our hearts and minds to God and believe the words of God according to Jesus Christ; which seeks to bless and not demand, heal and not curse.
*In Romans 1:17 it is said: “For in it (the gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, the just shall live by faith.”
*The believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ is justified by faith forever and not by hardwork, struggling or self-righteousness.
*The gospel is life, saves you from sin and death. Don’t be ashamed of it; it gives you the power to salvation. If you believe you’ve been saved from sin, you can’t have sin. If you believe you’ve been saved from poverty, you can’t be poor.
*Our problem is therefore in believing. And in believing, also lies the solution.
