MIDWEEK SERMON BY SAMUEL NKIRE

PRAY: ‘GOD WILL HEAL ME not GOD PLEASE HEAL ME

*You miss it when you beg and pray: ‘O God, please heal me’, instead of believing and praying: ‘O God, I know you will heal me’.

*Many people think they’re being humble when they beg, instead proclaiming God’s words and promises when they pray. That’s not humility; that’s slave mentality.

*Isaiah 53:5 says: “. . . He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

*First of all, to be a Christian, you must be a child of God and believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ and its message of salvation from eternal death, healing of your diseases as well as your provisions and protection hear on earth.

*Having been bruised, flogged and chastised by His tormentors who crucified Him on our behalf, the Bible says that Jesus paid the price for our sins and set us free from hell.

*Hell was not the only horror we escaped through His crucifixion on the Cross of Calvary. Instead of punishment, we are now healed, prospered and provided for; if only we believe and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which has been deposited in the heart of every believer.

*It is said that there are about 100 verses in the Bible where God promised not to leave or forsake us, not even during ill-health.

*So, when we begin to pray in a begarly manner, for what He has already promised; it makes no sense at all (some of the promises are found in: Hebrews 13:5, Deuteronomy 31:6, Joshua 1:5, 1Chronicles 28:20 etc. ).

*Hebrews 4:16 says:”Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.”

*Believers should approach God with confidence in the belief that we have been washed clean by the Blood. When we pray, we should lay claim and not beg. Who begs a loving father for his or her inheritance, I dare ask?*
