Pioneer member of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Sam Nkire has aligned with the APC Governors Forum over their stand against malpractices and cheating at both internal and external elections by party leaders and members.
Chief Nkire, who authors the MID-WEEK SERMON, recently harped on the ill of malpractices at party and national elections in Nigeria, he had this to say: “Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and leader of the forum is surely leading his group ‘in the right direction and at the right time”.
According to the elderstatesman, “for the Chairman of the APC Governor’s Forum to call for a transparent and coordinated management of party congresses and the forthcoming national convention” is an indication that the APC governors are ready to lead in the fight for corruption-free elections in Nigeria.
Nkire advised the governors of APC to work extra hard to change the poor narrative following the history of the country’s electoral contests in recent times.
The APC chieftain further appealed to the Progressive Governor’s Forum, “not to let the opportunity to convert the advantages of being in majority slip through their fingers, as the country approaches the general elections.”
