Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has reportedly resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to reports by Arise Television, Diri defected alongside 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
The development comes less than 24 hours after Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, also dumped the PDP for the APC.
Although official details remain unclear, sources suggest that Governor Diri and the lawmakers are expected to formally announce their defection in the coming days.
The move adds to the growing list of defections by prominent politicians from opposition parties to the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
