HEAVEN HELPS THOSE WHO CAN’T HELP THEMSELVES.
*David speaking in Psalms 63:7 said: “Because you have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.”
*God helps those who rely on Him first. God does not rush to help the strong, proud and pompous. A believer relies on God, through Christ for help. A believer is not ” a self-made man.”
*John 15:5 says: “I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruits; for without Me you can do nothing.”
*A branch feeds and survives through the parent plant, without which it dies. The branch cannot afford to boast of survival outside the parent plant, which nourishes and cares for it. Just as the branch can’t help itself without the plant, the believer can’t help him or herself without Jesus, who is both help and saviour.
*The saying: “Heaven helps those who help themselves”, is unfortunately not found in the Bible. But as we can see from the above, what is in the Bible is that God (heaven) helps the helpless. God helps those completely dependent on Him, just like King David.
*Philippians 4:13 says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” When we put our trust in God and not in our own abilities or strength; and stop boasting about our wings and how high we can fly, only then will our help come.
