Former National Chairman of the Progressive People’s Alliance PPA, Chief Sam Nkire, has called on the people of Southern Nigeria to adopt President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

According him, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only one who can win and ensure that power remains in Southern Nigeria, come 2027”

Chief Nkire who made this assertion in an interview with The New Outlook, also added that ‘if Bola Tinubu does not run for President again in 2027, no other southerner can defeat a northern candidate, no matter how weak ‘.

The pioneer member of the All Progressives Congress APC National Caucus therefore urged all Nigerians, especially southerners and indeed, people of the South-East to join hands to make Tinubu President again.

He further appealed to Nigerians to be constructive in their criticism of government, adding that Nigerians must see the country as part of a global village, facing the same challenges bedevilling the world and not put the blame squarely on the ruling APC government.

Chief Nkire was also of the opinion that most of President Tinubu’s policies and actions were some of those his opponents campaigned on, and saw no reason why the policies should become objects of criticism.

The elder statesman welcomed the President’s current working visits to States and advised him to ensure that he visited all the States, in other to appreciate the needs of the people, before the next election.

On allegations from opposition quarters that President Tinubu and the APC were working to make Nigeria a one party state, Nkire said the allegation was absolutely unfounded, adding that Nigerians had the constitutional right to associate with whoever they chose.

The APC chieftain reminded the electorate that, “not respecting the constitutional provision of rotating the Presidency between the North and South could lead to more crises in the country”.
