SURROUND YOUR FAMILY WITH GOD’S SHIELD
*Psalms 5:12 says: “For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous with favour. You will surround him as with a shield.”
*As God blesses us with favour and goodness; and surrounds us with a shield for protection against danger and diseases, so should we as parents cover and surround our children and loved ones with prayers of goodness and mercy, all the days of their lives.
*Psalms 128:3 says: “Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around the table.”
*Already, even before you were born, God had promised you a fruitful and prosperous family. All you need to harvest your promises is simply to pray and believe that your prayers will be answered through the name of Jesus Christ, your redeemer.
*As an obligation, the husband must love and take care of the family – wife and children; surrounding them with prayers of safety and protection. The wife and the rest of the family must in turn submit to the husband as the head of the family; as Christ is the head of the Church (Ephesians 5:23).
*Israel (Jacob) blessed his son Joseph as well as his grandsons, Ephraim and Manasseh. Isaac blessed his sons Esau and Jacob – read the book of Genesis 48:14 – 16; 27:27 – 40.
