BUILD AN ALTAR FOR GOD

Genesis 12:7 says, “Then the Lord appeared to Abraham and said, ‘to your descendants I will give this land.’ And there he built an altar for the Lord, who had appeared to him.”

*As a Christian, it won’t be out of place if you build or participate in building an altar, a church, or a temple for praying, preaching or spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. It will surely be profitable for you to build or identify a place or space in your home to pray, praise and worship God; you and your household.

*After God gave Abraham the land in Canan for his descendants, Abraham built an altar for worship in the land. By building an altar or a house of worship unto the Lord you will be proclaiming the awesome name of the Most High God who not only created the heavens and the earth but you and your descendants.

* *2 Chronicles 8:12 records that King Solomon also built an altar inside the house of God, which he had built, not only for worship but for offering burnt offerings to the Lord. Jacob also built an altar at Bethel in remembrance of how God saved him from the hands of his brother, Esau (Genesis 35:7).

*Being saved, loved and blessed by God shouldn’t be the end of your journey with God. Building an altar to pray and preach the gospel for others to be liberated and saved also, should be an important milestone for you.

*Altars are essential spiritual meeting points between man and God. Building an altar for God is not an instruction; it’s for your own good.
