The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a widely circulated 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip alleging that a candidate scored 396.
In a reaction shared on social media, the board described the document as fabricated, noting with concern that such misinformation was being spread by individuals who should ordinarily recognise its flaws.
JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, clarified that the purported result contains multiple inconsistencies that clearly indicate it is not genuine.
He reiterated that UTME results are currently accessible only through official viewing channels and are not issued in the format being circulated online. According to him, the appearance of the result on a supposed “template” is itself proof of its inauthenticity.
Benjamin further pointed out that the registration number displayed on the fake slip does not align with JAMB’s system-generated format, particularly citing the irregular “20269” sequence as a clear red flag.
He urged the public to disregard the misleading document and rely solely on verified platforms for accurate information, stressing that all UTME results remain strictly view-only at this time.
