Donald Duke Emerges PRP Presidential Candidate

From Jideofor Jones

Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the 2027 elections after securing 6,499 votes at the party’s primary in Abuja.

PRP National Chairman, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, described the exercise as free and credible.

However, the campaign team of fellow aspirant, Dr. Nnaoke Ufere, rejected the outcome, alleging widespread vote inflation and irregularities in several states.

The group claimed that votes recorded in some states exceeded the number of registered party members on the INEC-approved register and consequently demanded a fresh primary election and forensic audit of the results.

The development has sparked early controversy within the PRP ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
