WHEN APPETITE IS NO MORE FOR GOD
*Sometimes, a believer no longer hungers for the word of God to feed his or her soul, just like some people lose appetite for natural food.
*In such a situation, what usually happens is that the believer must have begun to feed on ungodly literature and the like, just as some people begin to feed on junk food.
*When this kind of distraction occurs, the best action to take is to search your soul and find out the cause of this backsliding feeling and take it out with prayers and the word of God.
*And let no one tell you it’s not an easy task because you know you can take it out if want; especially with praise, worship and thanksgiving songs.
*The word of God in Matthew 5:6 says:”Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” They shall be filled only if they invite the Holy Spirit which is in the word, to come and take control.
*Experimenting on immoral indulgence can trap many us and keep us in bondage, just as snacking on junk food can get us bloated before we know it.
*Guard and guide your heart and mind against distractions that take you off the track and take you back to the world of emotional cravings, rather than eternity where your soul lives forever.
*Psalms 41:1 says:”As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for you, O God.” This should be the appetite of the believer at all times.
