PREACHERS SHOULD BLESS; NOT CURSE PEOPLE.
*Preachers of the good news and followers of the gospel of Jesus Christ should not curse or condemn people to damnation. Followers of Christ should rather announce the good news to mankind which include forgiveness of sins, release of the captives and God’s love for the world.
*Once in a while, however, we hear some preachers, out of provocation, threatening people with such comments as:”If I curse you, and you don’t go mad, know that i wasn’t called by God or if you speak ill of me, I (or God) will destroy you — things like that.
*We should rather pardon and bless, no matter the provocation. The book of James 3:10,13, says, “out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not be so. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom”.
*While some of the best words for the walk with Christ include meekness, forgiveness, blessing, love, patience and more; curse is certainly missing from this divine list.
*Jesus spoke in Matthew 5:44 saying:”But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you”.
*Let us bless and not curse or judge. Judgement is for God. Who are we to judge — James 4:12
