NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS AS OF RIGHT.
*The epistle of Apostle Paul to the Ephesians 2:8-9 says:”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
The preceeding verse teaches that righteousness is a free gift from God to whosoever believes; through grace and faith in Christ, and not earned through work.
*We as Christians fail when we boast of our good works, and win when we boast of the grace of God and not our obedience to the law.
*Christianity teaches us to believe and trust in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the reason for our forgiveness of sins, the gift of righteousness and salvation.
*In a letter from Apostle Paul to Titus, the evangelist, he said:”Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy, He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”
*We can not achieve righteousness on our own. We must accept the Holy Spirit as instructor and pathfinder. Philippians 2:13 says:”For it is God who works in you, both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
*Let us therefore believe and depend on God’s grace and leading, to have righteousness and other achievements. Without believing God’s grace, we should not expect much. And without faith in His grace, He will not bless, help, change or save us.
*Unbelievers may seek to achieve their own righteousness through good work or obedience to the law of Moses; but followers of Jesus Christ believe that righteousness is a gift from God, in other not to make Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross to be in vain (Galatians 2:21).
