TO ENTER THE REST DOESN’T MEAN DOING NOTHING
*Hebrews 4:10-11says:”. . . He who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter the rest…”
To enter the rest does not mean lying in bed after morning and doing nothing all day. A child of God must wake up and go, as the Spirit directs; pursue his or her goals and plans, giving glory to God and God alone.
*1Corinthians 3:6 says:”I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.” If a child of God does not plant or water or make a plan, it becomes difficult to expect increase or yield.
*The difference between the Christian and others is that every plan of the Christian begins with a prayer to God through Christ and ends with glory to no one but God. A good Christian is not a ‘self-made man’.
*2Corinthians 9:8 also says:”And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having sufficiency in all things, may have abundance for every good work.” It then means that success is guaranteed for every good work you do or want to do.
*As a Christian, the strongest assurance you have to enter His rest is found in Hebrews 8:10, :”. . .I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”
*To enter His rest is to fully depend on God’s unfailing promises and willingness to save, heal, protect and provide.
