CHRISTIANITY IS NOT ALL SUFFERING AND SLAVING.
*Christianity is not all about suffering and slaving because there is an attractive and worthwhile reward, not only in heaven but also here on earth; not just in spiritual wealth but in material wealth too.
*Time has passed when pastors or religious leaders placed heavy, physical, legalistic and financial burdens on parishioners and church members. God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to come to the world, to among other things, liberate people under heavy burdens and to give them rest.
*Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”.
*While Christianity is said not to be about burdens, sufferings and heavy yokes, it is also not about drinking and eating alone. Romans 14:17 says:”For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”.
The Kingdom of God is about living in the Holy Spirit and not in immoral, worldly life.
*Jesus Christ also assured us that Christianity is not about suffering for nothing. He said in Mark 10:29-30,”. . . there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My sake and the gospel; who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time — houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions — and in the age to come, eternal life”.
*There are indeed two types of rewards for believers; one is earthly and the other is eternal.
