MID-WEEK SERMON BY SAMUEL NKIRE

GOD IS FOREVER GIVING; EMULATE FATHER AND SON.

*As children of God and followers of Jesus Christ, we should emulate God’s boundless grace and unconditional love to mankind by giving generously and without repayment in mind, either in cash or kind.

*The book of Luke 6:35 says:” But love your enemies, do good and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil”.

*From the foregoing, we are expected to give to everyone who needs help, not necessarily to those who can afford to pay back but to those who can’t, knowing that, that is the will of God who is the most generous rewarder.

*Luke 6 verse 38 further amplifies the the need for us to give, not only in church, but also to our friends and enemies when Jesus said:”Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over; will be put in your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you”.

*As people of God, we are expected to follow His examples in generosity by giving to all: friends and foes, kind and wicked; especially as we know that our Father in heaven is able to reward us”exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask”.

*Let us learn to emulate God the Father and God the Son in giving to the poor. Learn also from the poor widow who in Mark 12:44:”put in all she had, her whole livelihood” for the sake of generosity.
