WHY DO SOME REJECT THE GOSPEL?

For more than 2,000 years some people have had the habit of rejecting the call to the gospel of salvation and the invitation to the kingdom of God through Christ.

*It is for this reason of rejection that Jesus Christ likened the Kingdom of Heaven to the poor treatment meted out to a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, to which people refused to attend.

*Matthew 22:4-6 says: “Again, he sent out other servants saying, ‘tell those who are invited, see I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.”

*But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his own business. And the rest ceased his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. “

*Some people reject the call to salvation and the invitation to the Kingdom of Heaven because they are too busy with chasing the things of this world, while others don’t believe the gospel, make light of it, and think that the story is too good to be true. Some even go to the extent of killing gospel preachers, following their evil ways and emotions.

*For people who receive the gospel, believe and become the children of God; Luke 10:20 says: “. . . but rather, rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.”

*And for those who reject the gospel; Revelation 20:15 says: “And anyone not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
