Nigeria’s fintech space went into shock on Thursday after Paystack announced the immediate suspension of its co-founder, Ezra Olubi, following circulating allegations of sexual misconduct.
The decision comes after old tweets from 2009–2013 resurfaced, showing Olubi making sexually suggestive jokes involving colleagues, minors, and explicit anime references. The posts sparked outrage across social media, forcing Paystack to initiate a full internal investigation.
Olubi has not issued any public statement. His X account was deactivated on November 13, hours after the controversy blew up.
Paystack says the review process will be fair, transparent, and guided by company policy, as the tech community watches closely.
