MID-WEEK SERMON BY SAMUEL NKIRE

WE HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

*When Jesus Christ died over 2000 years ago, none of us was born; and so, that is the reason Colossians 2:13 states in part:” . . . He was made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses”.

*The sacrifice and the spilling of the precious and priceless blood of Jesus was for all peoples and all seasons. It is to benefit all who believe in Jesus Christ and the power of His death and blood on the Cross, and not to the benefit of those who do not believe in the continuous cleansing power of the blood.

*1 John 1:7 says:”But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin”.

*The blood of Jesus did not just clean the sins of our great-grandfathers, two thousand years ago, it still continues to clean our sins today and in the future.

*The cleansing is once for all. There shall be no sacrificing Christ one more time for the future cleansing of future sinners.

*Hebrews 10:10 says:”By that we will have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”.

We have therefore been forgiven once for all, past, present and future. It is also important to note that grace is for believers who have been born again, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit who leads us to salvation (John 3:5).

*When the woman caught in adultery was forgiven by Jesus, He gave her the power to go and sin no more (John 8:11). And this is what Apostle Paul told Christians in 2Thessalonians 3:13 :”But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good”.
