PRAY FOR YOUR LEADERS; GOOD OR BAD.
*Whether you consider your leaders to be good or bad, pray for them for change of heart or improvement.
*The Bible enjoins us to always pray for them and the nation and not to judge or curse them, as judgment is reserved for God and God alone.
*1Timothy 2:1-2 says:” I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving thanks be made to all men; for Kings and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
*Praying for our leaders is what is acceptable in the sight of God and not to curse, abuse, and judge those in authority; as 1Timothy 2:5-6 says:”For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ; who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
*Citizens of every nation are enjoined by the Bible to obey the laws of the land as 1Peter 2:13-14 says:”Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake; whether it be to the king or unto the governors, as unto them that are sent by Him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.”
*This is to say that God has a plan for the good and evil leader. It is also to say that even the followers have duties to perform, which include praying for the leadership and the country.
*However, bad leaders, in particular, are warned that God Almighty can change any regime or leader anytime He wants in Daniels 2:21:”And He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
*Let us, therefore, change from cursing to praying for our leaders; while our leaders change from bad to good deeds.
