Celebrity barman and socialite, , popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has announced plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Okechukwu made the declaration in a video shared via his Instagram page on Tuesday, revealing his intention to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State at the National Assembly.
In a caption accompanying the video, he said he had visited the state secretariat of the (APC) to congratulate members of the state working committee and formally communicate his political ambition.
He wrote that he used the opportunity to express his desire to serve the people of the constituency at the federal level, while leaving the outcome of his aspiration to divine will.
Speaking in the video, the socialite appealed to party stakeholders for their support and endorsement, stressing the need for unity among members. He urged party faithful to work together in pursuit of shared political goals, describing them as one family.
Okechukwu’s entry into the race comes amid his growing involvement in partisan activities, particularly through the City Boy Movement, a support group aligned with President ’s re-election bid and the Renewed Hope agenda. He currently serves as the Imo State Director of the group.
